Colby Stansberry

Do you and three others think that you could be the best basketball team around? Here is your chance with the Colby Stansberry Heart of a Champion Challenge. Below is the registration form that will need to be filled out and mailed in along with payment. Tournament entry costs are $60 per team and each team is guaranteed to play at least three games. This tournament is held at the Cleveland Middle School gymnasium on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Teams must wear the same colored shirts (Each team will receive four wristbands with paid entry).

There are 4 team divisions and co-ed teams are allowed. In the event of a lack of teams, each team will be given the choice to play in a different division than originally signed up for. NO TEAM will be allowed to play in a division lower than the original. These divisions include:

Middle School
High School
College age to 29
30 and over

Rules

Game will be to 21 by 2’s and 3’s or played to a 20-minute time limit, whichever comes first.

Each team must win by 2.

No make it take it.

Call your own fouls. All fouls will result in ball being checked at the top of the key.

There will be an official at each court to resolve disputes.

Intentional/Flagrant fouls will result in 2 points awarded to the fouled team and the ball.

Any disruptive conduct will result in team dismissal from the tournament and the premises.

Tournament format

Pool play into bracket play with the top 2 teams from each bracket advancing to bracket play.

1^st & 2^nd place for each division!

Other contest: $5.00 each (You will receive a Color coded ticket with each paid $5.00 entry)

3 point contest (4 balls plus a money ball @ 5 spots (Corners, elbows, & top of Key)

Free Throw Contest (Best out of 10 for each age group)

Dunk Contest judged by crowd response!!

New This Year!!! – All Star Game

Anyone playing in the 3 on 3 tournament may participate in the *ALL STAR GAME*. To sign up for the *ALL STAR GAME* you will pay $10 and be given a number for team selection as you arrive for the 3-on-3 tournament. A random drawing will be done to determine which team you are on “HEART” or “SMILE” (those are 2 of Colby’s greatest attributes).
There will be 2 periods of play, each 15 minutes. The *ALL STAR GAME* will take place at the conclusion of the 3-on-3 tournament.

Tournament play begins at 9:00am and teams are welcome to come start warming up around 8:30am. If there is a team that is unable for any reason to get their registration in on time, there will be a registration booth setup at 8:00am the day of the tournament for anyone still wanting to play.
